Community Shop Managers
3rd February 2025
North Molton Community Shop (NMCS) was opened in July 2024. We provide a very wide range of groceries, food and drink, a café and a selection of local crafts.
However, we are much more than a shop.
Run largely by volunteers. We want to become even stronger, and would like to employ:
Community Shop Managers
(2 or 3 positions / in total 60 hours pw)
Are you well organised, customer focused with good time management skills?
Do you like helping other people be as successful as they can be?
Do you enjoy creating a stronger community?
Is your management style collaborative?
Would you like to learn and grow with us?
Lets talk!
We are looking to employ up to 60 hours per week, which will be split between two or three people by agreement. The attached Job Description covers all 60 hours – we will allocate the responsibilities directly amongst the Community Shop Managers based on their personal preferences, skill profile and NMCS requirements.
We anticipate appointing one of the roles focusing on the shop and the second focusing on the café operations. However, we are open to other possibilities for the right people and skills profile. Therefore, the attached Job Description and Person Specification are currently combined. The roles will be split when we appoint.
We welcome all applications, even if you think you might be overly, or not quite enough, qualified provided you have great people skills. This might just be that dream job or return to employment or local workplace that you have been looking for.

Apprenticeship Opportunity
5th December 2024
My name is Harriett, I am 16 and have 7 GCSE’s including maths and English. I live near South Molton and I am now looking for a level 3 farm worker apprenticeship. I have a provisional driving licence and a tractor test booked for mid January.
I have worked on a local farm for the past 10 weeks and have gained experience in working with many types of machinery including tractors, skid steer and quad bikes and have used hedge trimmers, straw choppers and scrapers etc. The work also involved daily jobs with the cattle including feeding, bedding and scraping up. I am familiar with using a handling system with cattle.
Prior to leaving school I have helped out with lambing at a local farm for the past 4 seasons as well as helping out with sheep, cattle and horses for my grandparents.
I am now looking for any type of farm work but I am particularly interested in learning about dairy farming. I am a very willing learner and able to carry out any job I have been shown. I am fit and used to hard work, early starts and late finishes. References available on request.
Please contact Rachel for further information 07832 199291.
